We had a fantastic trip to Caldecotte Lake where we did climbing and had a ride in the speedy boat!

Class Timetable and Summer Term Topic Overview - USA all the Way!
Over the last week Purple Class have been observing the best conditions for growing spring onions. The fantastic weather has had a real impact on their growth and we have seen measurements of up to 1cm a day. Our final measuring day will be in about 5 days time, we have now been predicting how long they will be.

Termly Topic Overview Exploring England
In Art we found out how Stone Age people dried out their pots over the fire. Then we talked about the colours they used from ochre and natural dyes.
Science - finding out about reversible changes. Melting chocolate with a hand, warm water and a microwave. We found out that white chocolate melted the quickest because it had less cocoa solids.






Science - Solids, Liquids and Gases. Learning how a liquid can turn to a solid by making plastic from milk and vingegar

Purple Topic
This term we are learning about Chocolate. We will be finding out about where chocolate comes from and how it is made, as well as the Aztecs and Mayans who used to drink chocolate. Our story book for this term is Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and Michael Rosen's poem, 'Chocolate'. Please have a look at our termly overview for information about the curriculum this term.
